The first two ingredients of this food are named meat products. The second of these is meat inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight).
The next two ingredients are both oats. Oats, in whole form, are a high quality source of carbohydrates and additional protein. However, this is also an example of splitting and it is possible that the combined rice ingredients outweigh the combined dry-weight meat products in the food. Oat fibre is also present as fibre/filler. Since these are the only grain products in the food, we retain a reasonable level of confidence that the meat content is adequate.
We note that the manufacturer warrents the use of 42% meat content in this food. It is uncertain, however, whether this refers to the dry or wet weight ingredients.
