INGREDIENTS
Lamb meal, brewer’s rice, yellow ground corn, wheat shorts, chicken fat preserved with mixed tocopherols (a source of vitamin E), corn gluten meal, whole flax seeds (a source of omega-3 fatty acids), lecithin, salt, chicken liver digest, choline chloride, potassium chloride, dehydrated yeast culture, calcium carbonate, calcium propionate, ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, Dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), sodium selenite, thiamin mononitrate, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, manganous oxide, nicotinic acid, calcium d-pantothenate, retinyl acetate (vitamin A), cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), folic acid, riboflavin, menadione nicotinamide bisulfite (vitamin K3), biotin, vitamin B12 supplement, cobalt carbonate.

The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product, lamb meal. It is the sole meat product in the food. This is followed by brewers rice, a low quality grain and by-product.
The next ingredient is corn.Corn is a difficult to digest grain, which limits its nutritional value for dogs. We consider this to be a low quality ingredient. It is also commonly associated with allergy and skin problems. We prefer not to see the use of this grain in dog food. Corn appears a second time on the ingredient list as corn gluten meal. This is the "dried residue from corn after the removal of the larger part of the starch and germ, and the separation of the bran by the process employed in the wet milling manufacture of corn starch or syrup, or by enzymatic treatment of the endosperm". In plain English, that which remains after all the nutritious bits have been removed. Wheat is a further grain very commonly associated with allergy problems that we prefer not to see used.
Overall, this looks to be a food very heavy in low quality grains and with minimal meat content.
