Pros: First three ingredients are named meat products, grainless, primarily good quality ingredients.
Cons:

The first three ingredients in this food are named meat products. The first of these is meat inclusive of water content (about 80%). Once the water is removed as it must be to create a dry product, this ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight. It is thus unlikely that it is truely the first ingredient, but would be more accurately placed further down the ingredient list. Since it is followed by two meat meal ingredients, however, this does nothing to diminish our confidence in the overall meat content of the food. There is a further meat meal product 7th on the ingredient list, and another meat ingredient 10th. While this is too far down the ingredient list to make up a substantial portion of the food, it adds to our confidence in species-suitability. We appreciate the manufacturers statment regarding the use of ethoxyquin-free protein sources in the food.

Potatoes are the primary carbohydrate and starch source. Pea fiber is filler/fiber, as is tomato pomace. This food has no specific fat source, relying on other ingredients to provide its very low 9% fat content. This would mean the food is nnot suitable for puppies.

Overall, this appears a quality product with a good amount of meat included. We are pleased to see another grainless product on the market, offering a more natural diet for canines and in this instance, one aimed at reducing fat content without sacrificing quality.
