Pros: First three ingredients are named meat products
Cons: Minimum acceptable meat content, limited product information

The first three ingredients in this food are named meat products, as are the sixth and seventh. The first two and seventh are meat inclusive of water content (around 80%). Once this is removed as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredients will weigh about 20% of their wet weight. As ingredients are listed in weight order, it is thus unlikely that they are truely the first ingredients in the food, but would be more accurately placed further down the ingredient list. The third ingredient, in meal form, is likely the true first ingredient and primary meat product in the food and the sixth the next most significant meat product.

Barley, rice and oats are the main grains in the food. These are decent quality grains and good carbohydrate sources, but this product contains more grain than first glance at the ingredient list may have it appear. Fat content is a blend of good quality oils providing a good source of Omega 3/6 OFAs. We appreciate the use of whole eggs, a range of fruits and vegetables, and the inclusion of a good range of priobiotics in the food.

Information on this product is lacking in macronutrient breakdown, thus the review and overall rating is provided on the strength of ingredient list alone. We suggest that potential purchasers examine the macronutrient breakdown to satisfy themselves that it is consistent with a reasonable meat content prior to purchase.
