Pros: First and fourth ingredients are named meat products, uses primarily good quality ingredients.
Cons: Minimum acceptable meat content.

The first ingredient in the food is a named meat product, as is the fourth. The first is chicken inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). The meal version is the fourth ingredient in the food. There are five grain ingredients in the food, including the second (first true) ingredient. It is thus impossible to be confident that the food contains a substantial amount of meat.

The main grain in the food is oatmeal, which is a good quality source of carbohydrates and B vitamins. Barley is the second grain, and a good source of additional protein. Oat fibre is filler. Whole rice is a good quality grain that is low-allergenic and a good carbohydrate and protein source. Flaxseed is a high quality source of Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids.

We appreciate the inclusion of a range of vegetables in the food.
