Pros: Three of the four main ingredients are named meat products, uses primarily good quality ingredients.
Cons: Some filler.

The first ingredient of this food is sweet potatoes. This is a low-allergenic carbohydrate source that is high in antioxidants.

The next three ingredients are named meat products. The first, salmon, is meat inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). However, the presence of two meat meal ingredients high on the list gives us confidence that there is an adequate amount of meat in the food. Although no statement appears to exist on their website, the manufacturer has said by email that they use ethoxyquin-free ingredients (ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative commonly added to fish destined for meal, and is believed to be carcinogenic).

This is an allergy formula with few ingredients, and the above make up the bulk of the food. Remaining ingredients include canola oil, which is a source of linoleic acid that not all manufacturers agree is good quality, and sweet potato fibre which is filler. Salmon oil and flaxseed oil are high quality sources of Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids.
