Pros: First, third and fourth ingredients are named meat products, primarily good quality ingredients.
Cons: Minimum acceptable meat content.

The first, third and fourth ingredients in this food are all named meat products. We note, however, that the first two are both meat inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that these ingredients would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). The sole meat meal ingredient is the fourth ingredient in the food. This food probably contains an adequate amount of meat, but nowhere near as much as it might first appear.

The main ingredient in the food is a grain. Rice is a good quality grain that is low-allergenic and a good source of carbohydrate and protein. But it is still a grain and we prefer to see dog food based on meat. The other main grains (4th and 5th) on the ingredient list are oatmeal and barley. Both are good quality. Potatoes are the 6th ingredient, and a good carbohydrate source. Tomato pomace is filler.

Overall, this food contains good quality ingredients with little filler. It has only the minimum acceptable meat content, however.
