We were unable to ascertain full ingredient and macronutrient information for this product, and the following review is based solely upon the limited ingredient information above. Readers should take this into account in determining reliance on this review.
The first ingredient in the food is a grain fragment. Wheat flour is not an inherently poor ingredient, but in dog food products in commonly a byproduct of human food production. We thus regard it as a low quality grain fragment. Wheat is considered by many to be the leading cause of food allergies in dog food products.
The second ingredient is a named meat product. This is not a meat meal ingredient, but instead is inclusive of water content (about 80%). Once this is removed, as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight. As ingredients are listed in order of weight, it is thus unlikely that this ingredient is truely the most prolific in the food and would be more accurately placed further down the ingredient list. It is followed immediately by a named meat ingredient in meal form, which gives us some confidence in the overall meat content of the food. Note that this is, at best, the second ingredient in the food and this product is primarily comprised of grain (dog foods should be based on meat, not on grains).
Oats are a further grain in the product, and are of good quality. We assume the eggs to be whole (not product), which is appreciated. The food further contains a small amount of fruit. We note added vitamins and minerals, but have no information about these and it may contain synthetics.
