Pros:
First and fourth ingredients are named meat products, grainfree
Cons:
The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product, as is the fourth. Both are in meal form. We note that ocean fish meal is is present, but find no sign of a guarantee on the manufacturer website that this ingredient is free of ethoxyquin. Ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative, commonly used to preserve fish meal ingredients, and which is banned or heavily regulated in human food due to the belief that it is carcinogenic.
The major starch source is potatoes. The product contains a small amount of fruit and an excellent range of probiotics. Tomato pomace is filler, but also a minor ingredient in the food. The food includes canola oil rather than fat. Whilst this is beneficial, canola is not believed by all to be high quality.
Overall, this looks to be a decent quality product, with a decent amount of meat included. It is an entirely grain free product: Grains are not a natural part of a canine diet and it is pleasing to see dog foods on the market that exclude grains completely from the diet.
