Pros:
First ingredient is a named meat product.
Cons:
Mixed quality ingredients, insufficient meat content.
The first ingredient is a named meat product. This makes up 25% of the food, which we consider to be a minimal meat content.
The main carbohydrate source is potato, making up 20% of the food. Potato is a good source of carbohydrate energy and B vitamins. There is a further potato ingredient third on the ingredient list, which is potato fibre. This is a waste product and we consider it to be filler.
Linseed (flaxseed) is a good quality source of Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids. Rapeseed (canola) oil is a lower quality source of linoleic acid (Omega 3). Seaweed meal (kelp) is a good source of a variety of vitamins and minerals.
Overall, this food uses some good quality ingredients but we consider that the meat content of the food is too low for the food to be accorded a higher rating. The food also uses filler.
