Pros:
Primarily reasonable quality ingredients
Cons:
Lacking in meat content, contains a number of fillers, chicken fat high on ingredient list creats a risk of bloat for large breed dogs
The first ingredient in this food is a good named meat source, and the next two ingredients are good quality grains.
Chicken fat within the top four ingredients is a negative though – fat so high on the ingredient list of a dry dog food has been identified by research at Purdue University as a factor that increases the risk of bloat in large breed dogs. We consider rice gluten meal to be filler, as is barley flour and rice bran (grain fragments). The use of whole eggs in this food is appreciated.
The food is uses naturally-occurring preservatives, and contains no by-products or common allergens.
Overall it is not a bad food in terms of containing any harmful ingredients, but it does contain a number of fillers and is lacking in meat content.
