Pros: First ingredient is a named meat product.
Cons: Insufficient meat products.

The first ingredient in the food is a named meat ingredient, as is the seventh. The latter is chicken meat inclusive of water content. That is a good product to see in a dog food, however once the water content is removed the product is likely to be considerably further down the ingredient list than fifth (ingredients are ordered by weight). There is a further named meat product at 7th on the ingredient list, but it is unlikely that there is a substantial amount in the food.

The primary grain in this food is barley. Barley is a decent quality grain, as are oatmeal and rice which are the next ingredients. We appreciate the use of whole fruits, vegetables, and yoghurt in the food, and note that it uses whole eggs.

With only one true meat product in the top five or so ingredients, this food is too light in meat content to be considered a premium product. It contains no cheap grain fragments, however, nor any other controversial ingredients.

Note that this food uses citric acid as a preservative and thus should not be premoistened prior to feeding (bloat risk factor for large breed dogs).
