Pros: First two ingredients are named meat products, uses good quality ingredients.
Cons:

The first two ingredients are named meat products. The first of these is meat inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). However, the presence of a meat meal ingredient high on the list gives us confidence that there is an adequate amount of meat in the food. There is a further meat meal ingredient 7th on the list, which is too far down to make up a substantive portion of the food, but does still add to our confidence that this food contains adequate meat. This is a fish meal ingredient and we note that the manufacturer does not state the use of ethoxyquin-free sources (ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative commonly added to fish destined for meal, and is believed to be carcinogenic).

The next three ingredients are all grains. Amongst the first grains are rice and barley. Rice is a low-allergenic grain that is a good quality source of carbohydrate and additional protein. Barley is also a good quality grain and carbohydrate source. Spelt is a good quality grain, but is a close relative of wheat which itself is the most common cause of allergy problems in dogs, and those with wheat allergies may have similar sensitivities to this grain. Potatoes are a further good quality carbohydrate source.

There is a nice range of whole fruits and vegetables in the food.
