Pros: First and fifth ingredients are named meat products, uses primarily good quality ingredients.
Cons:

The first and fifth ingredients are named meat products. Both are in meal form, giving us reasonable confidence in the level of meat in the food. We note that the manufacturer does not state the use of ethoxyquin-free sources (ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative commonly added to fish destined for meal, and is believed to be carcinogenic).

The major grains in the food are rice, oatmeal, and barley. Rice is a low-allergenic grain that is a good quality source of carbohydrate and additional protein. Oatmeal is a good quality source of carbohydrates and B vitamins. Barley is also a good quality grain and carbohydrate source. Canola oil is a source of linoleic acid, but some manufacturers question the quality of this ingredient. Flaxseed is a high quality source of Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids.
