Pros:
First ingredient is a named meat product.
Cons:
Insufficient meat products in the food.
The first ingredient in the food is a named meat product, in meal form. It is followed, however, by two forms of rice. If these products were not split (see main page for explanation of “splitting”) it is likely that rice would be the true first ingredient in the food.
Rice is a decent quality grain, as are barley and oats which are the 4th and 5th ingredients. This is a grain-heavy food, however. The use of whole eggs is appreciated.
Note that this food uses citric acid as a preservative and should not be premoistened prior to feeding (a bloat risk factor for large breed dogs).
