Pros:
First and fourth ingredients are named meat products, uses good quality ingredients throughout.
Cons:
Minimum acceptable meat content.
The first ingredient is a named meat product, but since this is herring inclusive of its water content (about 80%) and this ingredient will weigh only about 20% of its wet weight once water is removed (as it must be to make kibble) it is unlikely that this is the true first ingredient in the food and would be more accurately placed much further down the ingredient list.
The main meat ingredient is in fact herring meal, but this does not occur until 4th on the ingredient list. We are therefore unable to be confident that this food contains an adequate amount of meat.
The second and third ingredients are good quality grains, and the sixth is sweet potatoes.
Overall, this is a good quality product which uses only good quality ingredients without any harmful nasties. It is a food aimed at dogs who suffer allergies, and the ingredient range is minimal. However, we are not convinced that the food contains an adequate amount of meat, despite its simple ingredient list. It is probably one of the more grain heavy foods in this class.
The food is likely to suit individuals who suffer allergies or sensitive stomachs.
