Zero meat content, use of low quality grain fragments and filler, carcinogenic chemical preservative.

The first ingredient in this food is brewers rice, a low quality grain and by-product. This is followed by pork fat - the main source of nutrition in a food that has a zero meat content. Egg product is a source of low quality protein. We note that a fat in the top 4 ingredients of dry food has been identified by Purdue University research as a factor increasing the risk of bloat in large breed dogs.
Corn appears on the ingredient list as corn gluten meal. This is the "dried residue from corn after the removal of the larger part of the starch and germ, and the separation of the bran by the process employed in the wet milling manufacture of corn starch or syrup, or by enzymatic treatment of the endosperm". In plain English, that which remains after all the nutritious bits have been removed. Corn is also commonly associated with allergy and skin problems.
We note also the use of chemical preservatives - ethoxyquin. This chemicals is banned from use in human food due to being carcinogenic.
We note that this is a food of extremely low nutritional value, and inadequate for use over anything but the very short term. We also note modern research that suggests protein restriction is required for kidney disease, but rather, high quality sources of protein (that do not exist in this food) are more appropriate.
