Pros: First ingredient is a named meat product, grainless
Cons: Insufficient meat content, mixed quality ingredients

The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product. This is meat inclusive of water content (around 80%). Once this is removed as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh about 20% of its wet weight. As ingredients are listed in weight order, it is thus unlikely that this is truely the first ingredient in the food, but would be more accurately placed further down the ingredient list. Further meat ingredients (also inclusive of water content) do not occur until 12th and 13th on the ingredient list, below flavorings. This does not give us a great deal of confidence in the meat content of the food.

The remaining ingredients appear to be of mixed quality. Potato flour and pea fibre are not high quality ingredients, bordering filler. Potato and whole eggs are more reassuring. In minor ingredients we note a range of fruits/vegetables and a good range of probiotics. Canola oil provides the fat content, and whilst a single-source oil is not of the highest quality.

Overall, we have some concerns about the meat content of this food but appreciate the exclusion of grains. The product has been rated 4* but appears rather lower in meat content than most in this category. We would suggest that it would be beneficial to supplement this diet with meat.
