Pros:
Third ingredient is a named meat product
Cons:
Inadequate meat content
Four of the first five ingredients (including the first two) in this food are grains. Immediately, therefore, we have severe concerns regarding the meat content of the food which appears to be biscuit with a little meat for flavouring. The main grains are rice (split into three ingredients), and barley. These are, in the main, decent quality grains, but food intended for canines should be based on meat.
There are three meat ingredients in the food, all of which are in meal form - 3rd, 6th and 8th on the ingredient list. Whilst each of these products is good quality, quality cannot compensate for inadequate quantity. Our major reservation regarding this product, then, is in the low meat content of the food and we would suggest that this diet, if fed, may be supplemented with meat.
Remaining minor ingredients include flaxseed, which is a good source of Omgega 3/6 OFAs and canola oil which, although a single source oil, is not of the highest quality. The food also contains a good range of probiotics.
