Pros:
First ingredient is a named meat product
Cons:
Insufficient meat content
Four of the first five ingredients (including the first two) in this food are grains. Immediately, therefore, we have severe concerns regarding the meat content of the food which appears to be biscuit with a little meat for flavouring. The main grains are rice (split into three ingredients), and barley. These are, in the main, decent quality grains, but food intended for canines should be based on meat.
There are two meat ingredients in the food, both in meal form - 1st and 8th on the ingredient list. The former gives us some confidence in the meat content of the food, but the latter is far too far down the ingredient list to make a substantial contribution to overall meat content. We would thus suggest that supplementing this diet, if fed, with actual meat may be beneficial.
Remaining minor ingredients include flaxseed, which is a good source of Omgega 3/6 OFAs and canola oil which, although a single source oil, is not of the highest quality. The food also contains a good range of probiotics.
