Pros:
Good quality organic grains used in this product.
Cons:
Extremely low meat content.
We appreciate the use of decent quality organic grains in this food – but where’s the meat?
The first meat product does not occur until fifth on the ingredient list – and it is chicken (non-organic) inclusive of its water content. Water makes up about 80% of this ingredient, and since ingredients are listed in order of weight, once the water content is removed it is likely that there is a very small amount of chicken in the food. Chicken meal does not occur until 7th on the ingredient list.
Overall, this product receives a low rating because of the extremely low meat content. We have no problem with the quality of ingredients, and no common allergens are used. But dogs are primarily carnivores and should be fed a diet based on meat. Grains should be kept to a minimum in dog food.
