Pros:
First and third ingredients are named meat products, good quality ingredients
Cons:
Higher meat content would be advantageous
The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product, in meal form. There are further named meat products third and sixth on the ingredient list, but these are both inclusive of water content. Once water content is removed, as it must be to produce a dehydrated product, the ingredients will weigh around 20% of the wet weight and may then be more accurately placed much further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). We are thus not convinced that the food contains as much meat as first glance at the ingredient list may suggest, but at the same time note that the ingredient list is still headed by a meat meal product.
The main grains in the food are oats and rice, both of which are good quality. We appreciate the inclusion of whole eggs and a range of fruits and vegetables. There is a good range of probiotics.
Overall, this product appears to use good quality ingredients. Our sole concern with the product is in meat content, and users may choose to supplement the food with real meat.
