The first two ingredients in this food are all named meat products. The first is in meal form, whilst the second is inclusive of water content. Once that is removed, as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight and may not be the true second ingredient in the food but rather more accurately placed further down the ingredient list. Since it was preceeded by a meat meal ingredient (already dehydrated) this alone does not give rise to concerns about the meat content of the food. There is a further meat meal ingredients 9th on the ingredient list, but this is too far down to make any substantial contribution to the overall meat content.
Oats are the primary grain in the food - and possibly the main ingredient overall. Oats appear in two forms, third and fourth on the ingredient list and combined could outweigh the meat named as the first ingredient. Oat fiber, further down the ingredient list, is a filler but a minor ingredient in the food.
This food uses canola oil rather than animal fat as the main fat source in the food, which is generally a positive thing. Not all commentators agree that canola is good quality, however. There is a good range of probiotics.
Overall, this product appears to contain generally good ingredients and is a limited ingredient food that may be useful for some allergy sufferers. We would have some concerns about the overall meat content, and suggest that users might like to supplement this product with real meat.
