Feeding guideline:
The standard amount of Azmira dry to feed is one level cup per 25 pounds of body weight per day (split into two feedings). This means a 50 pound dog would receive 2 cups (one cup on the morning and one cup in the evening).

The first ingredient in the food is a named meat product in meal form. There is a further meat product (fish meal) as the 8th ingredient, but this is unlikely to make up a significant portion of the food (ingredients are listed in order of weight). We note that the manufacturer states that it does not add chemical preservatives to its products but does not specifically state that it uses ethoxyquin-free fish sources (ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative commonly added to fish destined for meal, and is believed to be carcinogenic). The manufacturer is only required to disclose preservatives it adds itself, not those added before receipt of ingredients.
The main grains are barley and oatmeal, both decent quality. Sorghum is a carbohydrate source low in digestibility. We consider it primarily filler. Apple pomace is the fibrous remains of juiced apples (also filler).
Overall, the main concern with this food is low meat content. It appears to be a grain-heavy product.
