Pros: First and fourth ingredients are named meat products, uses high quality vegetable and grain ingredients with minimal filler.
Cons: Minimum acceptable meat content.

The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product, as is the fourth. The first is trout but since it is trout inclusive of its water content (about 80%) once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight). The second meat ingredient is in meal form. We note that the manufacturer states that there is no Ethoxyquin in their foods.

There is a third meat ingredient in the food as the 15th ingredient, but this is far too far down the ingredient list to make up a substantial portion of the food.

Potato is the second ingredient in the food, and this is a good quality ingredient. The main grains are millet and oatmeal, also decent quality ingredients. Oat bran is filler, but this is a minor ingredient. The food also contains some fruit, whole eggs and a good range of probiotics.

Overall this food is a good quality product and contains good quality ingredients without any harmful nasties. However, we feel that it is a bit light on meat content to receive a higher rating.
