Pros: First ingredient is a named meat product.
Cons: Insufficient meat products in food.

The first and ingredient is a named meat products, in meal form. There is a further meat product 9th on the ingredient list, but this is unlikely to make up a substantive portion of the food (ingredients are listed in weight order).

The second, third and fourth ingredients are all forms of rice (one being a grain fragment). If these ingredients were not split (see main page for explanation of “splitting”) we have little doubt that they would form the first ranked ingredient in the food.

The use of avocado oil is a controversial ingredient as avocados are toxic to dogs. The toxic dose is unknown.

This product does not contain adequate meat to be considered a premium dog food, and that is the reason for its low rating.
