Pros: First two ingredients are named meat products, good quality ingredients, solid meat content

The first two ingredients in this food are named meat products. The first is in meal form, and the true first ingredient in the food. The second is chicken inclusive of water content. Once that is removed as it must be to make a dry product, the ingredient will weight around 20% of its wet weight. It is thus unlikely that it is truely the second ingredient in the food, but would be more accurately placed further down the ingredient list.

Potatoes and oats are the primary carbohydrate and starch source in this food. Oats as the sole grain product are likely to be a significant ingredient, but the product is still less grain-heavy than many. Tomato pomace is a filler, and we would prefer to see the use of whole eggs rather than egg product in the food. Salmon oil provides a good quality source of omega OFAs and there is a good range of probiotics.

Overall, the product uses primarily good quality ingredients and provides a detailed macronutrient breakdown that supports confidence that this product contains a good amount of meat. A high ranking 5*.
