Pros: First ingredient is a named meat product, generally good quality ingredients
Cons: Minimum acceptable meat content

The first ingredient in the food is a named meat product in meal form. There is a second meat ingredient 5th on the ingredient list, but this is meat inclusive of water content (about 80%). Once that is removed, as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight and may be more accurately placed further down the ingredient list.

Oats are the primary grain in the food - and possibly the main ingredient overall. Oats appear in two forms, second and fourth on the ingredient list and combined could outweigh the meat named as the first ingredient. Potatoes are a further starch & carbohydrate source in the food.

This food uses canola oil rather than animal fat as the main fat source in the food, which is generally a positive thing. Not all commentators agree that canola is good quality, however. There is a good range of probiotics.

Overall, this product appears to contain generally good ingredients and is a limited ingredient food that may be useful for some allergy sufferers. We would have some concerns about the overall meat content, and suggest that users might like to supplement this product with real meat.
