Pros:
Uses good quality ingredients
Cons:
Insufficient meat product
Chicken is the first ingredient of the food. This product is inclusive of water content (about 80%) and once that is removed it is likely that this ingredient would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list (ingredients are listed in order of weight).
The next five ingredients are grains. They are decent grains, but we believe that a dog food should be based on meat not grain. It is not necessary to reduce the most nutritious part of a dog food to reduce overall calories, and this is the reason for the low rating this food receives.
Chicken meal (7th) is a further meat ingredient in the food, but is unlikely to make up a significant proportion of the food (ingredients are listed by weight).
The use of whole vegetables is appreciated, and the food contains a good range of probiotics.
