Pros:
Second ingredient is a named meat source.
Cons:
Insufficient meat product in the food.
The primary ingredient in the food is rice (28%). Rice is a decent quality grain, but we believe that dog foods should be based on meat not on grains.
The second ingredient is a named meat product (fish meal – 23%). It is unknown what preservative is used and we note that the manufacturer does not claim to use ethoxyquin-free sources (ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative commonly added to fish destined for meal).
The remaining ingredients are all reasonable quality (though we are unsure what constitutes “vegetable gravy” as this has no official definition).
Our main concern with this food is the low quantity of meat products used (23%). Our view is that that is insufficient for a canine
