Pros: First and second ingredients are named meat products.
Cons: Insufficient meat content.

The first two ingredients in this food are named meat products. However, they are meat inclusive of water content. Once this is removed, as it must be to create dry food, the ingredients will weigh around 20% of their wet weight. It is unlikely that they would then truely be the top ingredients in the food, but would be more accurately placed much further down the ingredient list. The sole meat meal in the food does not occur until 5th on the ingredient list, behind two grains. Whilst there are two further meat ingredients at 11th and 12th on the list, they are also inclusive of water content and do not make any substantive contribution to the overall meat content.

The main grains are oats and rice, both of which are decent quality. However, the total of the rice products (which are split into brown and white forms) are likely to outweigh the chicken meal. This food thus appears to be very heavy in grains, with minimal meat content. This assessment is reinforced by the inclusion of shell fish flour and cartillage, but a total calcium content of only 1%.

The inclusion of small range of fruits and vegetables is appreciated, but we would prefer the use of whole eggs rather than derivatives.
